The Family Room is a Gathering Place

Come On In!
The Family Room is an extension of our hearts and our home. We couldn't invite everyone over (we just wouldn't have enough space!), but we can welcome you here. We want you to come in, sit a while, and enjoy the simplicity and little joys that life has to offer.
We'd like to become the place in town where people meet to exchange news, grab a coffee after dropping the kids off at school, eat some ice cream with your best friend, and sit quietly to get some work done, gather, enjoy games and puzzles, and more. We would like to know our regulars by name and become part of their everyday lives.
The Family Room is a gathering place; a place to call home. We will be offering small bites and an inspiring collection of specialty goods for your home right in downtown Laytonsville. The Family Room isn't your average retail shop; it's about community. It's about family. It's about gathering.

We offer classes and workshops for the community featuring local artists and authors.
We sell products made by nationally and internationally known companies as well as local small businesses.
We strive to sell products that are beautiful, useful, and unique.
We serve locally made food and beverages from a variety of Maryland based vendors including
Quartermaine Coffee Roasters (Rockville, MD) and South Mountain Creamery (Middletown, MD).
We host a Farmer's & Artists Market for our community and local vendors. For more information, head to our
